Cookie doughn’t you want some?
When the dough is as equally yummy to eat as the cookie… sometimes all you can do is sit on the floor and eat cookie dough for breakfast. Or lunch. Or dinner. Regardless of meal time, below is the recipe for the world’s best chocolate chip cookie dough. And when baked, results in the best chocolate chip cookie... EVER.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup salted butter, room temp
1 cup white (granulated) sugar
1 cup light brown sugar packed
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp (good!) sea salt
2 cups chocolate chips (or chunks, or chopped chocolate) *we like a combination of 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 1 cup semi-sweet
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 °F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside. (We LOVE Kana’s convenient pre-cut baking sheets. Not only are they high performance, the material is completely compostable and biodegradable.)
In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder. Set aside.
Cream together butter and sugars until combined.
Beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
Mix in the dry ingredients until combined (but do not over mix!)
Add 2 cups of chocolate chips and mix.
Roll 2-3 tbs (depending on how large you like your cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets. (alternately, use a small ice cream scoop to make your cookies).
Bake in preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes. Take them out when they are just BARELY starting to turn brown.
Let them sit on the baking pan for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
NOTES
When you remove the cookies from the oven they will still look unbaked. This is the secret that makes these cookies irresistible! They will continue to bake to the perfect temperature on the sheet. Trust the process.
